TUESDAY 8th OCTOBER
LEADENHAM VILLAGE HALL
Our Autumn Party this year will take place at Leadenham Village Hall on Tuesday 8th October starting at 11.30 am. A talk illustrated by slides will be given, starting at 12 noon, by LCT Hon. Secretary Graham Cook, about the extensive work involved in rebuilding the top section of the magnificent spire of Grantham St Wulfram’s church in 2014, to remove rusting ironwork which was seriously weakening the structure. Graham was the supervising Architect for the project.
He will talk through the reasons why the difficult and expensive work had become necessary and the many challenges faced along the way, including 100 mph wind speeds, unexpected hard cement pointing and accommodating the needs of the previously (and subsequently) resident Peregrine Falcons!
After the talk and any questions, at about 1pm a delicious sit-down lunch will be provided, prepared by our Chairman Henrietta Reeve.
Please book in good time to ensure a place.
The cost is £20 per head
